Surgical Dermatology
Dermatologic surgery involves the diagnosis and treatment of medically essential and cosmetic diseases of the skin, hair, nails, veins, mucous membranes, and adjacent tissues using a variety of surgical, reconstructive, cosmetic, and non-surgical techniques. Dermatologic surgery seeks to improve the function and look of skin tissue by repairing and/or replacing it. Anti-aging treatments, injectable and implantable soft tissue fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, acne scar correction, chemical peeling, tumescent liposuction, vein therapy, hair restoration, laser surgery, skin cancer treatment, and reconstructive flaps and grafts are all examples of dermatologic surgery procedures.
